The short answer is that esk are nature spirits! Long answer is that they are characters of the Art RPG Those Who Went Missing, where everyone can get one (or 50) by playing the game (=creating art!). Esk are former animals or objects that are lost in either body or spirit, and are transformed into these creaturely ghosts c:
